Spot ASG

CloudHiro's SpotASG tag solves this by ensuring guaranteed availability while leveraging spot instances. Here's how it works:

• The SpotASG tag converts any auto-scaling group (ASG) into a spot-based ASG without deleting the original ASG.

• The original ASG is scaled down to zero when spot instances become available.

• If spots are marked for termination, CloudHiro automatically restores the original on-demand ASG to its previous size, ensuring minimal disruption.

• Servers that restart within ~90 seconds will seamlessly reintegrate with the load balancer or queue.

When spot instances are available again, the original ASG is zeroed out, maximizing your savings without compromising workload reliability.
